There is a misunderstanding with fans of the Inuyasha animation series when they hear other fans say they ship SessRin as lovers. Some fans would have negative claims because they don’t understand from their own customs, personal beliefs, and culture. They could simply misunderstand or overlook the Japanese culture especially since the manga could be mistranslated or because the English language does not have the right equivalent to word like Sama and Youkai or due to hierarchy language. which the meaning of the Japanese does not fully come across in English.
Reasons: There is the fact they only view Rin as a child. Rin is not going to stay a child forever. Maybe they will see it as an Koga and Ayame situation. Their morals and beliefs from how the interpretation the canon information which could be misinterpreted information by the actual canon. Unfortunately there are people called antisessrins that HATES SessRin ship and will always attack no matter what. It is okay to hate it but not okay to attack others, irrational. It is sad Fan A gets attacked bashed for their own opinion because it goes against personal beliefs of others. The antis who hate are trying to stop the Sessrin pairing and stop people from shipping them. They don't want to admit they were wrong. In the 10 years we have been watching we have never seen a Sessrin try to stop any of the other ships even the SessKagu ship. The Antis that has Sesskagu has caused people to hate Sesskagu and Kagura. These people are angry, insecure. jealous, haters, and/or a combination of all. Most of all they are lairs.

Lolicon: NOT CANON. This is a slang word with multiple meanings. Most meanings are similar to pedophile but aged 15 or younger. From the Drama CD, he will wait and allow her to make her own decision. The canon he is focus on a future with her not her as a child. falls more toward if he is fixated it is on her and the future not her as a child. If she was 8, Rin would be 18 having the twins. The fans who claim this needs to remember after Rin is 16 years old, all definitions and this view does not apply anymore.
Also calling a Sessrin that does not make sense they are interesting in a ship not fixated on girls. Someone needs to them that Sesshomaru is a male and 19 not a female 15 or younger. How does lolicon even applies to a ship?
Child-grooming: NOT CANON, this is definitely not supported in the canon. The idea of Sesshoumaru is courting her, and they will be future lovers. child-grooming is still not supported. This idea is disturbing someone would compare falling in love, to courting, to waiting and allow someone to decide their own heart to child grooming. On a side note: Calling Sesshomaru pedomaru is also a heinous thought to only to promote hate.

Some fans sees a sweet, pure and innocence relationship with them becoming a romantic couple when she becomes an adult. DEAR ANTI SESSRIN, LEAVE THEM BE AND LET THEM SHIP WHAT THEY WANT TO.
Why does some fans act like it is sinful for him to be courting her? Because they misunderstand courtship and thinking about her being a child with him. If this going to be wrote with old societies laws, Rin may be consider an adult or close to being an adult in that time period. Think about this, in this era, if he is indeed in love with her which do you prefer him marrying in love or marrying by arrange marriage and not have love? A lot of the marriages in Japan were/are arranged marriages.
Unfortunately, all the negative views placed on something innocence is true in real live.
REAL LIFE ISSUE
What is talked about next does not need to be fought with any animation characters. The ones that uses animations characters especially Sesshoumaru and Rin for this needs to ask themselves stand up as a fandom against something wrong or make enemies causing more hatred. The ones posting the blogs has live with hatred from other fans for many years. Do they still want to live with more hatred or fight for something worth fighting about instead of fighting over something small? It is believed that most of the Inuyasha fandom would stand up to fight this, especially the ones that ship Sesshoumaru and Rin because child marriages especially parent forced child marriages are wrong. Some girls are forced to marry their own rapist because of religious views or personal beliefs. Sometimes, personal beliefs are wrong.

Some of those marriages in USA could be immigrants with their own beliefs and customs from their own country. This is the real fight, let is try to put an end to child marriage and stop arguing over fiction characters from a story. Because no 10 year old boy should had to marry an 18 year old woman or no 12 year old girl should have to marry a 25 year old man. Moreover, no 16 or 17 year old or any age should be forced into a marriage by their parents or judge, which should be their own decision.
