Sesshoumaru and Kagura as love interests: Fanon.

Sesshoumaru and the current Rin as love interests: in between an non-exist pairing and fanon. In addition, used to attack the next pairing with biases.

Sesshoumaru and (older) Rin as love interests: studio-cannon (non-canon) and could could be interpret with the foreshawing in the Manga. However, Rumiko-sensei canon.

(Note: Before Yashahime, The drama cd does count, if not then Sesshoumaru and Kagura as potential love interests are not non-canon/studio-canon either.)

In regards of the manga and the animation, the material was carefully reviewed in the point of view from the blogs. In fact on the first reading of the English manga was read from the point of view from the blogs. Instead, the results found a different truth than what is stated in the blogs. Without the support from the factual story of the manga instead of a fabricated story the argument in the blogs falls apart. Important information follows:

1) The facts from the manga are from the Japanese version. The Japanese version is the original source. There are many translations in the world which would slightly different in translation. If you do not agree with a point, please provide evidence that supports your view from the manga, volume and chapter. Otherwise your post will just be an opinion and disregard information for this blog. Please do not twist what happen in the manga either because the manga will speak for itself. The reason this blog is mainly focused on the manga is because the manga is 100% approved by Rumiko Takahashi-sensei.

2) We are all fans of Inuyasha: just because we do not like a pairing we should not attack or harass others. We should be standing together and sharing our love for Inuyasha than attacking each other. Just because one is against a pairing does not give one permission to attack other fans what is canon or not canon. Fanon is what the fans create and other fans love. Therefore, should be accepted in the fandom, if someone puts Sesshoumaru with Ayame or Miroko with Kagome or dare should it be said, Sango with Quagmire from Family Guy.

3) The final act of the animation has been altered from the story from the manga. This change will be different, if you watched only the animation, and will lead to confusion. Just note it is different from the manga.

4) The two links with Faq in the link above, have been read a few times and have been compared with the manga. The facts are altered and reshaped to fit the blogs views. This blog believes their reasoning is critical for them to get a point across. However, their interpretation is not accurate from the manga.

5) Everyone is going to have different opinions. That does not make someone right or wrong. Some Inuyasha lovers will say Sesshoumaru and Rin are father and daughter then cringe at them being future lovers. Other would cringe at them being father and daughter because they see them as future lovers. And of course they can just see them as companions, like Inuyasha and Sango. The same goes with Kagura and Sesshoumaru being together; some approve or cringe of the thought. Any of these views does not make them wrong or right because they are judging from their knowledge. However, when you learn different perspectives from the culture from the original country, the viewer will learn how the author wanted the readers to see their story.

6) This blog is not a response to the blogs. Please remember, this blog is not attacking anyone or any fanon pairing. This blog only focused on the facts from the manga, and the misleading information from the blogs. The main goal of this blog is to provide correct information for fans of Inuyasha, and debunking the information provided in the blogs. This blog is not debunking any fanon pairings for fans to use in stories on fanfiction.net or any media for fans. In a words of a friend, "fanfiction is just that: "fan" fiction. There are no right or wrong pairings, just those you like. But that's the wonderful thing about fanfiction, we don't all have to like the same things and I think that's what makes fanfiction fun." Anyone could easily make any two characters a “canon” pair in how they interpret the manga when the manga does not support it. That does not make it true. No one should be attacked or bashed for a pairing. In the words of many fans, if you don’t like a certain pairing then don’t read them. No one should be attacked for what they believe in or don’t believe in. Each fan story is just a different parallel universe and does not change the real story from the manga. The end of the manga allow space for fan writers if you feel threaten that is not the blog intentions.

7) The plan was to post most of the information in one blog entry. However, this blog will be posted in selections to be user-friendly. If a reader disagrees with the claims this blogs makes, please read the sections that supports this blogs claim. There will be too much information for one entry containing most of the information together.

Sesshoumaru and Kagura as potential lovers: Could possibly be interpreted to studio canon but isn't, depends if a viewer will interpret the alter animation as such. The writers of this blog loves Kagura and can see how someone could interpret it as such but does not support that interpretation. Sesshoumaru and Kagura is a good Fanon pairing. However, cannonly, there is no support. Kagura, if she got her freedom would fly away and Sesshoumaru had no interested in her being with him as a follower or such.

Note: Some as claimed Sesshoumaru and Rin has a brother/sister relationship vibe, which could be interpreted and could fall into the companions’ category.

1) Both blogs had the same message at the end, both were worded differently. One said “You can like/dislike whatever you want, as long as you don't deny that this is the canon pairing” From the actions for over many years this is clearly not the case. People have the right to love a pairing and should not be told they are wrong. What does the actions with an intent to harm other fans say with false facts and trying to make everyone wrong when it goes against what you like? What does it say when someone attempts to control others and force them into someone’s own beliefs?

2) Let’s not show our hatred but give our friendship, from the actions that has been happening seems like someone needs a friend or more. They have their reasons in why they are doing. They need to know, if their reason is to protect Rin. They do not have to protect Rin, a character loved by Sesshoumaru and all the fans that is not going to be sexual abused. Or they feel threaten their view is wrong, it is so sad that they have been shown their hate for years. Would it not be better to be happy and spending time on the pairing a fan loves than to live hating a fiction couple and trying to spread that hatred? They could be masking their own pain by posting these links but how is attempting to make others feel the way they do going to help anything? In the blogs, they demean, Rin, Sesshoumaru, Rumiko Takahashi-sensei, the manga, romantic love, other fans, the one they could demean the most is the writer of the blogs. The blogs make the writer look threaten by other views and that they read a different manga apart from what Takahashi-sensei wrote. This blog is not attacking or trying to cause ill feelings with the writer, the blog is not making them feel that way. When someone attacks someone and belittles others, and judge them, it really shows how little and how insecure one is about their selves. Anyone twisting someone else words in trying to hurt them in retaliation is futile because it shows what they said were true and the words upset them with the truth. Perhaps they need to work on themselves, There is a possibly they have a lot in their past that they need to take care of. It is important for them to resolve their feelings themselves than taking it out on this blog or the Inuyasha fandom on innocent fans. The past is the past. They could attack this blog but they need to remember that this blog is fact driven by the manga and by the Japanese culture. Their fight is not with this blog.

3) Sesshoumaru’s canon love interest in the manga is no one or Rin when she is older. The manga definitely supports Sesshoumaru and Rin as companions by the words Takahashi-sensei used is how she wanted them to be seen. In addition, with “the future lovers?” entry of this blog, the manga could support them as future lovers. Moreover, in the canon entry of this blog, explains how the Drama Cd where Sesshoumaru proposes to Rin is studio canon. The best possible solution, if this blog did not solve the problem, is to say Sess/older Rin as a canon pairing are in the gray area. From the research the pairing rather it be canon or studio-canon of Sesshoumaru and Rin 〈殺りん〉is not going to go away. And this applies to all pairings like them being adoptive father and daughter as well. It just different viewpoints and it is not worth arguing about it or harassing others.

Age

The main focus of this entry is age. The conclusion of the results are, age does not matter when the couple are adults.  Sesshoumaru is a teenager. 

                                                       

UNOFFICIAL SOURCE #1

             The source is from Beckett Yu-Gi-Oh Collector: The Unofficial Guide page 83.  which says, "Over 900, but does not look a day over 18." The claimed Sesshomaru is over 900+ is not canon. 

UNOFFICIAL SOURCE #2 

                The source is from a movie booklet in German guessing Rin is about 7. The claim Rin is 7 is not canon. Inuyasha fandom is using this source for an age and had dropped the about. Rin's age is not confirmed common guess is 8-10, most used is 8. This blog could suggest 9 for a reason discussed later (Not yet written) 



                                              Sesshoumaru is 19 and Inuyasha is 15.

  Rumiko-sensei only give their human ages in the InuYasha Profiles by Viz Media or InuYasha: Zusetsutaizan Ōgikaiden (犬夜叉図説大全奥義皆伝,) implying she wants the readers to sees them as their human equivalent ages.  

It should not matter how old Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha are in demon/youkai years or how lived years they have lived.


                              Older sister Kanna is 10 and younger sister, Kagura 17

Kanna and Kagura are created close together and are only lived for a few months from when they were created. 


                                                              Rebuttals 

Exploration: If a robot was created to look 10 and another to appear to look 17, after two months, 5 years, 30 years, would they be looked at how long they have been created or the age the look?                                                  

Rebuttal 1: The exploration is because of this question: Why use the age 17 to ship Sesskagu but use Sesshomaru's youkai years against him with Sessrin? In that logic we should use just a month to few months old Kagura with 19 year old Sesshomaru, instead of the age 17. 

Rebuttal 2:  Shippo: His physical appearance is 7, and in non-manga canon he said he did not remember 50 years old since he was still a baby. If Shippo is over 50 he is physically 7. He acts and behaves as a 7 year old.  If it took 100 years for him to be 8, he will still act and behave as a 7 year old.  Inuyasha will behave like he is 15 and Sesshoumaru will behave like he is 19.   

Rebuttal 3: Since youkai ages differently, theoretic, Sesshoumaru could be still 19 or 20 when Rin could be 80 years-old. Sesshoumaru is an Inu youkai and not a human man. The logic fails with the argument age gap and making Sesshomaru a human who ages like a human.        

Rebuttal 4: If all the Kagura and Sesshomaru scenes where instead Sesshomaru and Kanna. Would people shipping Sesshomaru and Kanna as they do Kagura? Problaby not, even though she is older than Kagura. 


                                            How old is Sesshomaru in demon year?

 In a interview in 2020, Rumiko-sensei said changed how we worked out Sesshomaru and Inuyasha's youkai years.  What we did was took the estimate from Shippo.   We did 1 human year to every 10 youkai year making Shippo 70 and he would been 20 years old making him 2 in human years. But this is now incorrect way to use for Sesshomaru and Inuyasha and we removed that data.  We will return this question as soon as we rework data. 


                                                            Special Note: 

In the animation, the scared tree was made to be over a thousand years old and Kagome goes 500 years in the past.  The third movie claimed Inuyasha is 200 years old.    

In the manga, the scared tree is 500 years old and Kagome is going back almost  440 years ago. *That is subtracting 50 years Inuyasha was sealed. Also given the tree about ten years to grow into the tree it was when Inuyasha was sealed to it. If the scared tree is 500 years old and Kagome is going back to 500 years, she is going back to when Inuyasha is sealed to a tree that was just a sapling or seed?  Or by Magic. 

                                   Some other facts (and missing many) 

Oda Nobunaga lived from 23 June 1534 – 21 June 1582 in the Sengoku period. 

The year is 1996 for the Japanese version and 1997 for the English version.  1996-500 = 1496. Oda Nobunaga was not alive.   1996-450= 1546, Oda Nobunaga would be alive and  that is why Amari Nobunaga from episode 8 knows about Oda Nobunaga.  Oda Nobunaga is not known for his accomplishments and still know as a fool. roughly placing this after 1546 but before 1559?  1996- 440= 1556 and Oda Nobunaga would be 22 and the sacred tree will be 60 years old.
